Who killed Sally Shakes?

Sally attended a book signing event at Molly's, a wine bar in the Stockyards. Since she was a "Fitness Trainer to the Stars", she wanted to get the Celebrity Fitness Secrets book and talk with the author about what his experience was like - he'd never know she is in the process of writing her own blog which she hoped to turn in to a book.

Cupcake McQueen took it hard when Sally refused to endorse her recipes or help promote her own book, recipes to lose weight, that Cupcake felt would make her famous and rich.

Cupcake has had a hard time in the cooking world, being fired for throwing a knife at a busboy (who Cupcake felt deserved much worse, arrogant fool thinking he knew more about fried pies than she does) - she also felt totally justified in promoting her cooking talents, since getting recipes from The Grandmothers was really just a starting point - you always make a recipe your own with your own style of cooking.

Rita worked with Cupcake for a couple of years, slowly pulling money out of her while getting her recipes from "The Grandmothers" - a great scam Rita was able to pull off since she was able to do some web searches on old style recipes and put a little spin on them with info she gleaned from her very good friend, the Mayor's assistant... who has access to the secret information of Fort Worth's elite, like nicknames, favorite children and drug use - info that made Cupcake feel like she was getting her money's worth. And, reading the palms of a couple of celebrity chefs helped too - interesting information is exchanged. But, Rita messed up when she told Sally that the recipes were essentially fake, that anyone could get them on the internet. Sally thought this was funny and thought Cupcake was a fool.

Sally asked Boyd if he'd pick her up after the book signing. Boyd was only too happy to do so, but couldn't find Sally. When he went looking for her, he missed the secret wine cellar since he couldn't smell the wine and damp earth smells, and so missed seeing Sally and Cupcake in it.

Cupcake had followed Sally to the book signing, and then to the secret cellar, where Sally knew, from her hard-partying days, there was a hidden key and access to the best wines - a bottle of which would surely help her butter up the author for more tidbits about successful writing and publishing. Cupcake couldn't figure out why Sally was acting funny, and then left the main room - going to the cellar. Cupcake watched her get the key and open the door. She followed her in, shutting the door behind her.

Sally was surprised to see Cupcake and asked her what was going on. Cupcake wanted to know why after addiction and rehab was she in the cellar - to do some blow? Sally laughed at her, and said she was only getting a bit of an advantage in life, and what business was it of Cupcakes? Sally said Cupcake had no idea what it was like to have REAL talent, and her cooking was a sham and "The Grandmothers" was just lying and fakery. Cupcake, firm in her belief in and love for the poor dead old ladies who gave her great recipes, lost it - she'd show Sally just how real they were by sending Sally to meet them. An ice pick was lying on the bar - bad luck for Sally - and Cupcake grabbed it and stabbed Sally in the heart. Sally gasped, looked amazed, and collapsed, dead. Cupcake felt dizzy, justified and relieved. She could go home now and whip up a batch of cookies with almonds and dates, just like Myrna told her about...
