Stone Trough Winery
Cleburne, TX
Owners Kevin and Stephanie Maxwell are high school sweethearts and parents of three: Cole, Kendall and Hayden. Kevin is a “jack of all trades” type of man: former bank examiner, homebuilder, attorney and now entrepreneur. Stephanie is a wonderful example of love, strength and perseverance. Trained in architecture, she has worked 25+ years for a general contractor in Fort Worth. A rock of the family, she has faithfully given her time to provide countless gifts and opportunities for those she loves.
Urban life to pastures of green, the move to Cleburne in 2016 meant they were going country… Kevin acquired 35 head of red angus cattle from the previous property owner. A great gift, the venture into agriculture would change their lives. Alongside the animals, Kevin and Stephanie decided it would be a good time to pursue their love for Texas wine and started planning a vineyard. By 2020, all three kids, mom, dad and two grandparents were living on the farm. It would take everyone to make it thrive.
Whiskey Road Winery
Grandview, TX
On the outskirts of town, an old dirt road winds its way through the trees & pastures. The old timers tell stories of how they used to stop & drink whiskey, wasting away the evenings. The Whiskey Road borders the land that our winery and vineyard are built on. This is the story Memaw told us anyways.
We are a small, family-owned winery in Grandview, TX. In 2015, our clan decided to venture out & grow a vineyard. With a lot of fun, mixed with a lot of hard work, that vineyard is now over 2 acres of vines, & still expanding. Syrah & Tempranillo are our two estate favorites that we would love to share with you. Our winery got its start in the infamous year of 2020. With a leap of awesome faith, we were excited to bring good wine to good people, so we just went for it. We have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but we would love to share some wine and some new experiences with you.
So come out & enjoy! At Whiskey Road, we make good wine, drink all we can, & sell the rest.
